Need help paying off student loan in turn for teaching underpriveleged computer lessons

Hi! I am a 46 year old married mother of 3 children ages 9, 18 and 23 and need donations or grants to pay back my student loans. I graduate today with a BS in IT - Multimedia & Visual Communication (3.77 GPA) earned recently in Dec. 2010. My student loans are looming to be paid back starting in June 2011 and I cannot afford to pay it back at this time ($600/mo). My 18 year old honor student needs a car and insurance and because we will have her student loans and the added car and insurance payments, there is no money left to pay off my student loans. Our credit is not good due to a house fire on Christmas Eve 2007 (full renovation) that resulted in a bankruptcy in 2008, so debt consolidation is not an option. My only hope is to defer my loans if possible while she is in college, but my student loan debt will remain. I am willing to teach computer lessons in my community via the computer or locally (Baton Rouge, LA) to those who cannot afford to pay, if a business or organization would in turn donate to pay back my student loans ($60,000+). My heart is for the community and I love to help people learn!!

Bessing's Blessing Daycare Center

Good day!

Looking for grants for a Daycare Center which encourages children to be the leaders of tomorrow. The center also helps parents with everyday life problems such as bill help, food assistance, school-related information and many other kinds of assistance. With all these offerings, however, the business needs funds to keep this kind of thing going. Where can I find good grants?

Please feel free to e-mail BBDC10@gmail.com if you have this information or if you have opportunities that may help BBDC; your time is appreciated!

The Aidpage Motto: People Helping People - Let's return to: Community, Compassion, Support, Responsibility and Acceptance

Aidpage motto: "People Helping People" --- Everyone struggles and has problems ... everyone has a story, and no one person knows exactly what it's like to be "you," except you. We each have our very own unique journeys, which are full of both good stuff and bad stuff, and it's simply unfair to compare one person's life struggles to another's, as they are all different, not to mention, equally as real and important.

With so much chaotic and negative energy in this world right now, the best thing we can do for ourselves and others is to show compassion, understanding and avoid placing judgement. We may never be able to step into another's body, mind and life, but trying to look at things, and people, from different perspectives, may go along way in supporting one another during a time that feels so difficult.

Story time ... I am the first to admit that I can get angry when I drive, and this is something I have been working on calming and improving for many years now. We've all experienced other drivers operating their own vehicles in reckless, careless, and less than intelligent ways ... and since we share the road, other's actions and inactions affect us on some level or another, even if it's just two slow moving vehicles blocking traffic. I know that I am not alone when I say that there are times when I have become frustrated, undone, angry or plain peeved with others on the road, but when someone does something and acknowledges it, and gives that "I'm sorry" wave, my frustration melts away. I am being completely truthful when I say that I have always practiced this courtesy ... if I've done something stupid and affected another driver, I give that wave, as we all make mistakes, whether it's driving related or not. With all that said, I was driving home one night after a long and emotionally draining emergency room visit, when my inattention caused me to piss off a fellow driver. They displayed some road rage even with my apology. That's when it clicked for me: Every single human being on this earth is living their own life and have their own problems which affect them in ways that many other's may not understand. I began to think about all the times I ever became angry or frustrated with another driver and how I did not put any thought into the fact that any given person may be dealing with something beyond that of the time spent to get from location a to b. The thing is, we don't know ... That driver who cut you off, the one who is speeding, or that one car traveling below the speed limit and blocking traffic could very well be occupied by a person who just lost a family member, someone embroiled in a nasty divorce, custody battle or infidelity, or someone who was just given a diagnosis of terminal cancer, you never know.
... Unfortunately, we all experience such things, and I don't understand why we can't give each other more slack, acceptance and forgiveness.

The point? We are all human. And to be a human, is to be flawed. We all know how good it feels to have someone validate, relate and understand our individual struggles, and we are thankful when someone shows us kindness and support over that of judgement and criticism.
People Helping People ...

About DeShoun

I am a 31 yr old man from Houghton Lake, Mi. I was a bad guy when I was young.I come from a physically and emotionally abusive home. Both of my parents were alcoholics, my mother a HEAVY drug user. I didn't have any encouragement to do anything with my life. I sold drugs all my life and never had to work a legal job. When I was 21 I got set up and arrested. I did five years in prison after pleaing down to a lesser charge. I know you are asking yourself "why is he telling us this", right? Well, why I am telling you this is because I want you to know that there are some who do change. Like I said, I sold drugs all my life so money was never an issue, and came VERY fast and easy. I have grown up a lot. I now have a very beautiful wife and family. I have an 18 yr. old stepdaughter that has an 8 month old daughter herself. We are living a poverty and struggle every month to pay our bills. If it weren't for us just getting our taxes recently, we would be over $1000 behind in rent. My wife works a full time job at our local Wal-Mart. I have for over a year now been looking for work. It is so hard finding work being a felon. I have applied everywhere, including McDonalds. My wife and I have a dream of opening our own clothing store. We live in a small town, where there is nothing but a Wal-Mart and K-Mart to shop at. We would like to provide the comunity with name brand clothing, without breaking thier bank accounts. I am doing very well staying away from illegal activities, even knowing how easy the money is. Like I said, I have grown up!!! I would love to own my own business and not have to worry about not getting the job because of my background. If someone can help us get started with our business it would be greatly appreciated. Peoples backgrounds cannot change, but the person can.

I have a last wish, but my illness is slow progressing so I don't have a set time limit. This disqualifies me for getting help with it.

Those of us who suffer chronic illnesses that are also terminal don't always get the "you have x number of time and you will die" instead you could be told that you could go at any time depends on the illness you have. What do you do then? You may have time to work on your own bucket list and you might not but you can't predict it. Do you just wait and do nothing or do you try to make your last dreams come true?? Well I am trying to answer that for myself. I am able to do some things but I have limits now as I get worse there will be less that I can do. I have one very special wish that I can not find anyway to make it work out. I recently found several of my closest friends from my child to adult time, they still live close enough to my Mom's that we could get to see each other, but I can't get up enough money to make it happen. I have not seen them in 32years! And I may never get to see them again! My Mother who was like a second Mom to my friends, she is also dying too so we have shared a very strong closeness with this happening to us both, but the special part is we both know we will meet on the other side!! Thank you Jesus! Can anyone help us make this reunion happen?? Huggs to the world!! Peace and Goodwill to all!!

Ask, Believe, Receive

It is so sad to see so many people in crisis in this country.   As I read through the many blog postings, there are many on the brink of homelessness, without medical care, without jobs and with children to feed and bills to pay...   where does a person go when they have no family to take them in?   Few or no friends--who are often in similar situations--no community to help them...   some appear to be in rural areas where there are few or no services available.

I don't have answers to these questions...     I have offered suggestions for locating resources, but again, in rural areas, and if there is no transportation available, resources can be extremely difficult to access.     My hope would be that if people who see these blogs live near those who are posting and can help in any tangible way, they will.

I myself am close to losing my home.    I was able to access a few dollars from a family member and get some additional help from my township trustee, but still, my situation is precarious.      I have had to make tough choices.     The sad reality is that our nation has been going downhill for some time and it will take time to bring it back again.  That doesn't help those who are in crisis now, of course.      So what can we do while we wait for our government to pull us out of this mess?

It is time we build communities again...    I'm not talking about houses and buildings.. I'm talking about community in terms of relationships; where neighbors help each other out--   watch a neighbor's child so they can look for work; share food wherever possible; loan your car or drive someone to an appointment or to look for a job.   These are things we, the people, can do for each other...     Money is tight everywhere...  let's share what we have and do what we can to help each other make it through these tough times.

Most importantly, we must ask for what we need and we must believe we will get it and that we deserve it!!

About borderlands

Hello all.

I'm a single man of 62 living in Tucson, Arizona.  I sometimes get a teaching job (part-time) at the community college.  I live on unemployment when that doesn't happen.

I'm hoping to find some small piece of land near Tucson that I can build a barnyard alternative economy on.  I believe a group of three to five small families can gather together and use their talent and energy to support each other.  I think we must do something like this - form small groups that mean something to each other.  Don't get "atom-ized"!  Don't try to live isolated!  Join a small group.  Pull together.

Anyone who can help put this model together will be recognized in a publication that I will write.  We can show others how something can be done for a future.

Let's communicate and brainstorm.  We must learn how to live sustainably, which doesn't mean living in utter, abject poverty.  Living simply does not mean living like a dog.  We can do it with elan, love and be a model for others!

Write.  Join me in Tucson!

Own a thrift store in rural Alabama serving predominantly lower-income populations. The business plan includes gaining the capital to become a conduit for online and live space education resources. I am interested in finding out more information about grants and/or business loans specifically for these areas, and am open for guidance. Any and all random acts of kindness will be appreciated.

Seans121

About Seans121

Hello-

My concerns are few, yet financial worries seem to crowd my mind. Personal savings are a worry, the cost of home improvement is a worry, the cost of bills infringe upon my income. My goals aren't of fame and fortune, I wish only to survive with the basics covered. I have a limited income, yet I've a full time job which will last for many years to come (I work for the State of Colorado, department of Institutions).

With the cost of living rising as we speak, making ends meet is a concern of mine. I don't have a perilous story of injury or illness and I've not fallen behind on my financial responsibilities, yet the cushion between current levels of savings, income and costs for living is growing thinner.

Perhaps there are those within the community who can offer a grant for a fellow American to live as one should...with the security that most Americans wish for, yet have an obstruction toward attaining (present economic climate included).

thank you,

New way to make MONEY

Hello,

Well today is Monday of the Labor Day Weekend, A sure sign that winter is just around the corner. One last hurah to picnic and enjoy family and friends in an "outside" surrounding before being forced indoors by cold winds and fridgid weather. Here in W. Rutland the weather today is beautiful for taking advantage of just that. I do not (at this time) have access to an outdoor arena for such activities as picnicing, so I am making plans for winter activities. Indoor winter activities, that I'm hoping will make me some money too. I came accross a site called "Our Town" recently that looks like it just might provide a nice indoor activity, while making money. It is an online community site that offers you to take over a zip code near you and set up a page that you are editor over. You make money by selling on-line ads to local businesses. Our times shares the revenue from that with you. (40/60). You also would hook up with local churchs, your local school and townhall for all your local news of who's doing what and when. I got very lucky as I was one of the 1st 1000 to sign up my first year is totally FREE. I'm not sure how many more to go before they hit past  1000 but they are pretty new. The Licence fee after that will be $1,000.00 per year. So if you're interested go check it out now and see if you're one of the 1st 1000. If you mention my name I get an extra free month but I'm not too worried about that, I'd rather help someone who might benefit from this.

Well Hope Everyone Is Having a GREAT Labor Day inside or out!

Till Next Time...

Remember, you deserve to be happy!

About ksoulsak

I was married 21 years; a stay at home mom & at age 39 found myself divorced. I went to school, became a licensed CNA & operated in-home personal care services for elders with Alzhiemer for ~7 years. I am 3 credits away from an associates degree in elementary/special education. While I finish my education goal, I began working at an accredited preschool. I have recently quit this employment (2008) for the following: My parents are living in a different state, and have ongoing medical needs and personal care requirements from breast, prostate, & throat cancer. This requires me to have a flexible schedule for travel so that I can participate in their ongoing care. This is a duty of the heart, as well as their health, that I share with my two siblings. My CNA training and expertise has been invaluable to meet these needs.

At the same time, my daughter--who quit her employment in 2004 to provide 24hr care to her father who was riddled with cancer--was now facing this situation: In the last year of his life he remarried. The cancer battle had lasted 3 years. We lost him Nov. 2007. The new wife had acquired power of attorney just prior to his death, sold our family home immediately after his death, gave our daughter 2 weeks to vacate, then moved back to the state she originated from. I moved my daughter & grandson into my home from the state in which she lived.

The situation of employment for just above the states minimum wage for both of us is not enough to truly make the ends meet. We are not using nor do we wish to be reliant on state welfare. We do make the food budget stretch by visiting the local food bank, and shop at the goodwill stores. We also use consignment shops to resell some of our better things and clothes. What our dream is: to again own a business that benefits others & supports our basic neccessities.

This business requires the ability to own the home & land where we currently reside.  Then upgrade the home, landscape the land for gardens, playground, & xeroscape parklike areas. Instituting alternative eco friendly sources of water & power for the gardens & household needs. This is an extra expense but will lead to our ability to continue to run a business from our home with minimal utility bills & lessen our environmental impact. The house & grounds will be suited to all clients abilities.  I would like to add that if your participation as a donating source or investment contract requires this business to be based in Oregon/Washington area I would love to discuss possibilities with you.

The business will be a licensed organic, holistic care giving home for elders &/or infants & children. The style will be foster care?, hospice care?, emergency housing? The question marks are due to the fact that any or all are viable options for the use of our home/business. The need will make itself known & that will be the path or paths taken. Monetary exchanges between the client and our business will be based on need and income level. True, not a non-profit, but the emphasis will be on care of the individual not the bank account persay.

We are very humbly asking for help to begin life again, our intention is to pass it forward through the positive use of funds recieved. We also would like to create a contract with the right individual/group who may wish to invest in the business of caring. The idea being to pass it forward, and also remember to honor (and repay) those who gave to us.

Thank you kindly for keeping us in your prayers and meditations.

(revised 10-08)
